Soliloquy
Wind don’t howl through my brain
Doors don’t squeak on your hinges
Oh if I could gather all the darkness into
my eyes
An’ let the hazy starlight blaze a path
into my soul
Ah this world’s too much for me
I’d fain have a little corner patch
In the backyard of beloved’s monstrous dwellings
Where green grass and fresh dew would
embellish
The humble offerings of this once
Vibrant proud and warm heart
