Age is indeed just a number…you are as old as you choose to be! Leander Paes has proved this by winning his twelfth grand slam title at Wimbledon on Sunday, July 4, 2010. This was his 23rd outing at the finals of grand slam events and his sixth mixed doubles title. His partner in triumph this time round was Cara Black of Zimbabwe. They beat the South African- American duo of Wesley Moodie and Lisa Raymond in straight sets 6-4; 7-6.
Leander has left the whole world staring in amazement at his dedication and grit. At 37 it is not easy to deliver tournament after tournament, rising to every occasion time after time…but this guy has done it…once again! Hat’s off to you, Leander! You have the whole nations, nay, the whole sports loving world’s good wishes, love and respect. May you continue to feel good about your game and continue to shine for eons to come!
